Substitution Policy

In some instances, our photo may represent an overall theme or look and include a one-of-a-kind vase which cannot be exactly replicated.

Although the actual bouquet may not precisely match the photo, its temperament will. Occasionally, substitutions of flowers and/or containers happen due to weather, seasonality, and market conditions which may affect availability. If this is the case with the gift you’ve selected, we will ensure that the style, theme and color scheme of your arrangement is preserved and will only substitute items of equal value or higher value.

If any design elements are of major importance to your order, please include them in the florist instructions at checkout or contact us to ensure availability.

Delivery Policy

The Orchid Design Florist LLC – Delivery Policy

At The Orchid Design Florist LLC (located at 324 Kuulei Rd, Kailua, HI 96734), we hand-deliver each custom tropical and standard floral arrangement with care. Our delivery guidelines ensure your fresh flowers, leis, and plants arrive beautifully and promptly.

1. Delivery Schedule & Same-Day Cut-off Times

  • Standard Delivery Windows: Deliveries are routed Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, and Saturdays from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. We are closed on Sundays.

  • Same-Day Delivery Cut-Off: Same-day service is available for orders placed before 1:00 PM HST. Orders received after 1:00 PM will automatically be scheduled for the next available business day.

  • BloomSnap Confirmation: For peace of mind, online orders include a BloomSnap photo of the completed, unique design sent directly to you upon successful delivery.

2. Service Areas & Delivery Restrictions

Delivery fees vary depending on the travel distance from our Kuulei Road shop. The final rate is calculated during checkout. We routinely service the following Hawaii delivery zones:

  • Primary Zones: Kailua, Kaneohe, and Waimanalo.

  • Extended Zones: East Honolulu, Honolulu, and Pearl City.

  • ⛔ Military Base Restriction: Due to strict security access requirements, we do not deliver to any military installations, bases, or housing areas (including Marine Corps Base Hawaii / MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Bellows AFS, etc.). Please provide an off-base residential or business address for delivery.

3. Hospitals, Businesses, & Funeral Deliveries

We offer delivery service to off-base residences, offices, venues, local medical facilities, and funeral homes.

  • Restricted Access: Deliveries to commercial buildings or patient rooms will be left with the front desk, security, or reception staff according to facility safety rules.

  • Required Details: Customers must supply the full facility name, department, room/suite number, and a recipient phone number at checkout.

4. Absent Recipient Protocol

If the recipient is not home or available at the time of arrival, our drivers will attempt the following:

  • Safe Placement: Leave the floral package in a secure, shaded area on the property to protect the blooms from weather or sun damage.

  • Re-delivery: If no secure drop-off point exists, we will contact the customer or recipient to schedule an alternative delivery time (subsequent delivery attempts may incur an added routing fee).

5. Substitutions & Cancellations

  • Design Variations: Since local tropical flowers and seasonal options vary, we substitute blooms of equal or greater value to preserve the arrangement's aesthetic style and scale.

  • Changes: To modify an order address, date, or card message, please contact Erick and the team directly at (808) 382-7981 during shop hours. Changes must be made before the delivery vehicle departs.

Refund Policy

All sales are final. We do not accept returns or offer refunds.

Refunds are processed immediately. Please allow 5–10 business days for the refund to appear on your statement.
